If you never heard about it, Procida is a beautiful islande near Naples. Less known than Capri or Ischia, Procida really worth it.
Known in the seventies because it welcomed the movie ” ” Procida has many others treasures that should convince you to visit it.
Why you should visit it ?
Procida is a stunning island
You will get amaze by the beauty of this island. Full of color, Procida is as much impressive as its cute. With a mix of traditionnal tratoria and small fishing ports, Procida really conquisted our heart.
Procida is Calm
Of course you are still in South Italy so you will hear italian yelling on their scooter ( hello cliché that happened to be true ) but you will enjoy the calm of Procida. Less noisy than Naples and less crowd than Capri, this island is the perfect mix between italian charm and the peace you can find near the sea.
One of the many advantage of Procida is that you can visit it completely by foot. Indeed, its only 4 km long. Of course, if you don’t want to, you will find some buses at the main port to bring you in key places.
You can taste great sea food
Island is full of nice restaurants and traditionnal tratoria and everywhere on the island, you will find sea food specialities. One the best place to taste it is Marina Corricella Port. If all restaurants seemed to proposed tasty plates, we choose to eat at “La Locanda del Postino” where we enjoyed our meal as much as the view.
An idea of a foot itinerary ?
When you arrive at the port, you will see easily the tourist point where they will give you a map. What i advice you to do to is to start your jouney on Procida with the main port. Then you will see on your a right a way to go up by foot. From there, you will reach some cute streets of Procida. Then, follow the indications of the belvedere to get amaze by the point of view of the port and the colored houses. I also highly recommend you to go down to the Marina Corricella Port to eat and taste sea food.

Differents boat companies allow you to visit Procida. Usually, you will need to take the boat from Naples.

Be carefull with the name of the port you need to reach because depending on the type of boat or departure hour you will choose the place will not be the same. So if you don’t want to run at the last minute ( like we did… ) check it out before.
